However, the Kingswells of today, grew from the need for homes following the boom in the oil and gas industry during the 1980s. Since then Kingswells has become a popular residential suburb of Aberdeen, with its own primary school, medical centre, convenience store and various community halls and centres.

The purpose of the site was for sharing local news, events and information relating to Kingswells.
Funds to pay for the website registration and domain names came from the small surplus profit generated by selling adverts in the Kingswells Newsletter (Some of you might remember the A4 Orange headed newsletter). The funds to keep the website going for a good while, but ran out some years back. It was sad that such a long established and once well support site was unable to be continued. Hopefully that situation will change in the near future.
The aim of this new website is to attempt, to produce a central reference point for all things related to Kingswells.
